A corned rat is applicable because all vestiges of colonialism are disappearing. Resource empty, weakened and broke is the European Union that is mad in its own denial of its obituary. I too pray that Putin and Trump can light the lamp that signals peace and serenity is possible.
Europe is nothing but for the centuries of plunder in the guise of Roman religion. The new pope is just one of the final gasps of the Old World Order, as the corpse flails about. If Trump is actually aware of this, it would put a whole new spin on the MAGA movement, but I'm not ready to believe that yet.
Trump definitely developed a messianic attitude after having his ear clipped. The problem is he's not nearly as smart as he thinks he is, and the show worked the first time, but the holes are obvious on the second viewing.
As for Europe, they've literally run the world for the past 1,000 years, and they think the world owes them for it. I, for one, am enjoying watching them squirm as they realize the rest of the world is quickly passing them by.
I always come back to the question, "What is my reality?" That is the one I hold dear, not the theatre, not the work of fiction to which we are currently exposed, not the simulacrum that is this particular box in the universe. There lies madness.
Being a child of the theatre, I love to watch the spectacle, but I never lose sight of the proscenium. The word "theatre" comes from the Greek verb "to behold". I paid for the seat, by golly I want a show!
Ordo ab chao. The only way Europe can grow is to burn the garden to ash every winter. The only thing they haven't yet done is openly march into the Ukraine under uniform, and lord knows Starmer and Macron have been pushing for it. The only hope I see so far is Trump playing them for fools every time they come to the White House (most recently Merz). Only Longfellow could fit this insanity.
The great diplomatic failure of the last 100 years was the failure of the U.S. to not legitimately work with post Soviet Russia. We missed a tremendous opportunity to bring Russia into cooperation with us on many issues and to hell with Europe if they did not like it. 10 years from now there will be no Europe.
The problem post collapse was that the most corrupt factions on all sides got involved in an effort to use the chaos as a means for buying up vast wealth in commodities and manufacturing for pennies on the dollar.
The fact that the US was under the control of the Bush/Clinton cabal, the most corrupt in US history, didn't help. The Bushes taught the Bidens everything they knew about peddling high offices and hiding bribery and fraud in various organizations. The only use for diplomacy for these people is to lay the blanket of discretion and respectability over the rot of graft.
British empire is on the verge of collapse and the only way out is take the whole damn lot of civilization with it. Un is thde evil empires arm and the USSA is controlled by the psychos. drumpf is just a pawn acting a part.
The British empire died at the end of WW1, though they've made a good show of animating the corpse. Really, all Europe is, is the reanimated meat of the Holy Roman empire, warmed over and over again. Once that goes, the rest of the continent is toast.
The civilized way to wipe out debt is to declare bankruptcy. In that respect we Americans may be blessed to have a president who knows how that works. When the Yankee Government goes broke it will hurt the millions of us who depend on regular disbursements from the treasury, but at least physical assets will generally remain intact, and unnecessary deaths will be many fewer than what the Europeans have in store. Yes, their leaders are nuts, and their bankruptcy laws are practically medieval compared to ours, to the point war is the more attractive option, I guess.
By the way, I hope you're back in the pink of health. Keep up the good work.
Assets remain in tact insofar as one can prove ownership with original documentation. When regimes collapse, the record keeping function of gov't is shredded, and original documentation, along with several pallets of good quality ammo may be the only way to preserve assets. Folks are still sorting out property rights from before WW1 and 2.
As for the health thing, turns out I had a heart attack and it took 2 weeks to figure that out. Future column on this one.
A brother-in-law was recently told he'd had a heart attack some time back, and didn't know it. Except for bad knees he looks and feels fine, and is working two jobs. I wish the same for you.
Thank you kindly. I'm doing fine now, though everyone around me is behaving like I'm going to keel over any moment. When the doc found out that I had lived with MS for 16 years with no treatments or doctors fussing over me, he said it's amazing I was still alive to have a heart attack now. Pretty much sums up my medical history.
All relevant observations but in my opinion the "system" is the problem. It has no self-correcting mechanism and there are no "white knights". The way it is structured it invariably ensures that intellectually and morally seriously challenged individuals end up in the positions of power. Additionally, the degree of senseless over-regulation is frightening. In the US, laws and related regulations amount to 1.3 million pages and the situation in the EU and other countries is similar. Clearly, we have to start from scratch but how can this be achieved? We probably need a revolution or total civil disobedience, but how can this be brought about?
I have some experience with EU regulations, and the absurdity is beyond mortal language to describe. All economic systems build up malinvestment and bad debt that has to be wiped in order to clear out waste and unused inventory. The European system has used continent-wide war (and global in recent years) to wipe the books clean, destroy inventory, and get rid of evidence of crimes. The history of Europe shows this every 50 or so years, and we are way overdue now. It took two major wars to clear out the books last time around. With over a quadrillion dollars in derivative debt alone, not to mention major crimes against humanity i the past two decades, it will take one hell of a war to clean up this mess. Whether they get their war or not, we're in for a rough ride.
I believe the assassination attempt was staged. Donald would be dead if what is called the deep state wanted him dead. The MAGA faithful gave him a pass on the coved lockdowns and "Operation Warp Speed." The faithful simply said Donald got bad advice from bad people surrounding him.
The now iconic photo of his fist raised in the air with a bloodied ear has a clear blue sky behind it. The last time I say a clear blue sky like that at such an important moment was 9/11. Was the weather manipulated in both of these events to have the most dramatic effect? Asking for a friend.
Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by serendipity. That said, all questions are fair when truth is suppressed. When it comes to COVID and the Big Warp, folks can chose to blame "those around him," but the president is in charge of personnel in the executive branch. I sure as hell won't grant Trump or anyone else messianic status.
Great post and very sage regarding our current, and probably future, situation. We should all hope, and for those who do, pray, for Putin's long life and good health. His great restraint in not already using Russia's enormous military and technological capabilities against ourselves and the our midget gangster allies has been incredible. Imagine what Xi would have done if we'd instigated a color revolution in Hong Kong, killing off thousands of ethnic Chinese, placing a corrupt stooge as dictator, then murdering Chinese citizens on the mainland. There would have been a very violent, kinetic response in a few weeks or so directed at ourselves and anyone else supporting us.
Another great movie I'd add to yours is "The Death Of Stalin". It has a great cast, fantastic writing by people who had much experience with socialism, and it's quite funny, in a dark way, though.

"Go for the juggler" was hilarious.
Trump thinks he is a god.
No US president can stand up to the banks and corporations. Well, at least not Trump. He's no Putin.
Good article, but as far as I'm concerned, Europe and the Old World can piss up a rope.

As long as they only piss up a rope, I shan't be concerned either. It's the boys in the sandbox with nuclear weapons that concern me.
Wouldn't it be interesting if it was all a paper tiger? Suppose we are seeing the worst they can do? That's a whole 'nuther rupe to piss up.

I'm afraid this one is a two thumbs down rating.
Two thumbs down for the story, but my, the spectacle is something to behold! You don't have to like the Avengers plot to enjoy the special effects.
Oh, I fully expect the Euro Trash, including the ones in Israel, to blow the world up if they can.
Longfellow. Good choice. They need chaos to function the way junkies need a fix. They know no other way.

Excellent piece, thanks so much!
Thank you for dropping by and leaving a note. We aim to infotain.
